Grandbaby's first birthday card

I can not believe she is already one year young!

Yes, it's true...my little puddin' is turning one tomorrow and I simply can not believe how the time has gone by so quickly!  The little helpless baby I held against my chest just yesterday (so it seems) is now starting to walk, talk and show off with her own personality...and believe me, it's a BIG one!  haha  She so has us wrapped around her little finger, but we wouldn't have it any other way.

For Delilah's card I decided to use the multi-colored tutu that my daughter has made for her to wear during her party for inspiration...it's very festive and cheerful and gave me lots to play with.  I hope you like it.

                                                                And now you're one!

For this card I used the following cartridge and measurements.  Teddy Bear Parade-little party bear/cupcakes, cut at 6", then I decided to cut the balloons at 5 1/2" so they wouldn't appear to big.  I wanted the teddy bear to be the main focus.

Now for the added touches...For decorating the cupcakes, I used pink sugar glitter for the icing and Martha Stewarts' crystal glitter on the flame.  I also removed the candles from two of the cupcakes and used a patterned paper for the wrappers.

The small banner in the background was made by hand cutting 1" triangles and printing the words on with Bic marker.  I then colored the three balloons with Copic markers V12, V15, G14, G24, R30 and R32.

For the bear, I dressed her in an outfit to match the birthday girls...I used Bic markers to write BIRTHDAY GIRL and multi-color tissue paper for the tutu.  I inked her using brownstone and coffee bean, applied Glossy Accents to her nose and muzzle, added two fun google eyes and a pretty pink bow to finish her off.  Once the bear was completed I then sprayed her with Krylon crystal clear spray to preserve the image.

Thanks so much for stopping by and having a look.  Kathie

Pooh and his friends

Autumn leaves are starting to fall

I so love this time of the year and decided to use early Autumn as a setting for this clock I made for my daughters mother-in-law.

My daughters mother-in-law lives in Florida and is possibly the biggest Disney fan we know...she has a year round pass to the park and makes good use of it...hahaha!

Her favorite character is Tigger and her husband loves Eeyor, so what was I to do?  I know, MAKE A CLOCK WITH POOH AND HIS FRIENDS ENJOYING THE FALLING LEAVES AND CRISP AUTUMN AIR BESIDE A LAZY STREAM!

Only me, Eeeyor

For this project I used the following cartridges and measurements.  Pooh and Friends-bridge (pg59), cut at 6", Pooh (pg23), cut at 4 3/4", Piglet (pg42), cut at 2 3/4", Eeyor (pg51), cut at 3", clouds/icon (pg76), cut at 1", 1 1/2" and 2", leaf/icon (pg42), cut at 1".  Plantin Schoolbook-numbers, cut at 1".

The little added touches were made by using Glossy Accents on Tigger and Eeyor and also using brownstone, forget-me-not, sapphire silk and pink geranium ink to give some depth to the characters.  I also used copic marker E37 to shade the wooden bridge
Oh, I almost forgot...the entire background was colored by using the sapphire silk to give the feeling of an early Autumn sky.

Hope you like it and thanks so much for stopping by and having a look.  Kathie

Art Deco

One of my favorite cartridges

I truly love the Art Deco era...the colors, architecture and fashion of the time is simply beautiful and this cartridge makes it easy to create a project that reflects that splendor.

This card will go into my collection of cards that I will be making with the Art Deco cartridge...my plan is to create card sets that can be given as gifts and for personal use.

Now onto my card!

                                                                          Nude goddess

For this card I used the following cartridges and measurements.  Art Deco-Nude (pg59), cut at 6 3/4",
Card #4 (pg65), cut at 7 1/2" and George and Basic Shapes-rectangle (pg100), cut at 1 1/2", 1 3/4" and 2".

After cutting out the pieces of the nude, I inked the edges with Copper and Pheasant Gold...I then used a textured vellum to give depth to the orb and added Glossy Accents to the top layer of the nude as well as the orb for that little extra something.  To give the figure an authentic look, I created a pedestal to place her on by layering three rectangles together.  I think the added base really does give a complete look.

Once all of my pieces were dry, I assembled the card base and applied the figure...  Thanks so much for stopping by and having a look.  Kathie

Presenting...Pinocchio

I must say that I totally love all of the Disney cartoons, but the classics have my heart.  There just seems to be something magical about the art work and animation that made them so special and now I'm lucky enough to be able to share my favorites with my new grandbabies...and pass the love on to them.

Like I said in my last post, I was off to make another clock and this time it was for my daughter-in-law...well I've finished and here it is.  Please excuse the fuzzy glare in some of the shots, no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get a clear shot.  Sorry.

Pinocchio

For this project I used the following cartridges and measurements.  Disney Classics-Pinocchio (pg53), cut at 5", windmill icon/icon layer (pg56), cut at 9", Figaro (pg58), cut at 2" and Geppetto (pg59), cut at 9"...Plantin Schoolbook-numbers 1-12, cut at 1 1/4".

Now for all of the little extras.  For Geppetto I used vellum for his glasses along with Glossy Accents and white flock for his hair and mustache.  I also used the Glossy Accents on his finger nails, eyes, mouth and the accordion.  I then sprinkled Martha Stewart-Crystal fine glitter to the accordion to give it a little sparkle.  Oh, and my favorite add on...MS brown ink to give his outfit a little depth, plus some Pebbles Chalk (med. pink) for his cheeks.

Figaro.  Very easy...Glossy Accents just to make him pop a little.

Pinocchio.  A little Glossy Accents for his hatband, feather, mouth and eyes, along with mini brads for the nails in his knees and Liquid Pearls-Butter cup for his buttons.  I also used Pebbles Chalk (dark pink) to give his cheeks some color and inked his outfit with brown and ocre.

Background.  For the circle I simply inked it with olive green and added brown card stock cut at 1/4" to create the look of a slatted wood floor and the windmill to complete the feel of the scene.

Once everything was put together and glued down, I sprayed it with Krylon Crystal Clear Coat
and replaced the glass.

There you have it.  Thanks so much for stopping by and having a look.  Kathie

Hello Everyone!

I can't begin to tell you how nice it feels to be posting on my blog again...The past 10 months have been an emotional rollercoaster ride for me, with the loss of my mom, the birth of my two beautiful grandbabies (first time Nana here) and all of the little bumps along the way that life decided to put in our paths during our healing .  But with each passing day, our families strength and faith keeps us going and makes us even stronger...then one day you wake up and realize that life does indeed go on and it  does get easier and we should appreciate and count our blessing daily and take part in the life we are given.  So...

Now for my first attempt at crafting for what seems like forever.  I hope you'll like it.  Oh, I didn't make notes on this project...it just felt so good crafting again that I simply forgot.  I do know that the characters were cut at 1 1/2", 4 1/2" and 5", but as far as the little extras, sorry.

Once again...I'm sorry for not taking any notes, but it really felt so good to craft again that I totally forgot.  I do promise to take notes on the next project though.

Thanks for stopping by and having a look.  Kathie

*Now to start on the Pinocchio clock for my daughter-in-law.
